Veterans SA is the lead advocate across the South Australian Government on matters relating to the veteran community, Veterans SA works with Defence networks, ex-service organisations, civic groups and the wider community to provide support when and where it is needed most. The agency also plays a key role in sharing information about services, programs and opportunities that are available in South Australia to those who have served in the Australian Defence Force and their families. The agency is committed to empowering current and former serving members to build a confident, forward-thinking community, whilst striving to achieve widespread awareness that veterans and their families are valuable, not vulnerable.
The Defence Force Welfare Association is an independent voice for Australian Defence Force members, veterans, and their families.

Understanding and supporting service personnel of ADF and their families - at a glance separating from the military and other first responder services is a challenging time. Returning to civilian life and family and friends is exciting but can also be a time of uncertainty. Coming from a highly scheduled life to a life that is open and maybe initially without clear direction requires reorientation across the domains of employment, housing, education, justice, health and the community. If one has health issues the transition can be even more challenging.
Soldier On services are holistic and integrated and are able to be tailored to meet the needs of individuals and their families. Developed in line with world’s best practice, our services are evidenced-based and have been designed in consultation with Defence personnel, veterans, and their families.
Soldier On staff work side by side with individuals and families, to strengthen resilience and develop meaningful connections with family members, mates, and the local community through a diverse range of health and wellbeing services, employment opportunities, learning and education programs, and participation in community, social, and sporting activities.

Open Arms is the leading counselling service for veterans and families.
Along with offering one on one counselling for veterans and family members, Open Arms run a variety of wellbeing programs and events.
The RSL was founded in 1916 to provide comradeship and support to Australia’s veterans and their families.
That core mission has never changed but has continued to evolve to meet the needs of each generation of servicemen and women.
We have a branch network that covers Australia and any veteran who seeks help will get it. Serving ADF members and veterans should will be warmly welcomed at their local RSL.
We advocate for the best possible conditions for our serving men and women and for those who have served the nation in the past.

Plympton Veterans Centre is located at the Repat Health Precinct in the Veterans Wellbeing Centre.
The ATDP accredited volunteers can assist with Compensation and Wellbeing matters.
Military Advocates assist veterans and their families with DVA compensation claims and advice is available for Wellbeing contacts and agencies.
Veterans helping Veterans through working together, making cold steel the old school way. Hard work, good mates, coffee, camaraderie, a few tall stories and creating handmade knives to be used by professionals. Owned by soldiers to help Veterans and their families re-enter the workforce and transition into civilian life.
Legacy South Australia and Broken Hill is dedicated to caring for the families of fallen or seriously injured veterans.
Legacy’s caring and compassionate service assists around 48,000 widowers, children and dependants with a disability. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life.

Frontline Veterans Australia (FLVA) is a term used to combine ADF Veterans (current and ex-serving) and First Responders (current and former Police, Ambulance, Firefighter and the extended Emergency Service Organisations). FLVA is committed to creating an inclusive environment and promoting service values, forged through service to community and country, especially camaraderie. We pride ourselves on promoting the positive experiences of service and the ability to re-establish a sense of team, trust, respect and loyalty.
The healing value of this program can not be understated, not only for the veteran but also for their partner or family. Reintegration into family life and the community can be difficult following deployments and this was the perfect environment for those who were struggling as a result of their service.
We are enormously proud of the Robe to Recovery program and we hope that other communities will adopt it themselves in a show of support for those who sacrifice so much and put their own lives and family time ahead of our own so that we may enjoy this wonderful country and everything it has to offer.

The Vietnam Veterans Association has several branches across South Australia. Offering social supports and events along with advocacy services. VVA have a large range of memorabilia and opportunities to attend ceremonies to assist in holding pride of service. VVA stand by the motto of "Honour the dead but fight like hell for the living".
Camp Andrew Russell is an initiative by Vietnam Veterans Federation that offers a quiet, comfortable and safe opportunity for veterans and their families to escape the hussle and bussle of their day to day life. In honour of Sgt Andrew Russell whom paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country during operations in Afghanistan. This respite camp has all the amenities needed to drop in set up and relax.
Australian Partners of Defence (APOD) is the official benefits program for all defence and veteran families across the nation, in collaboration with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Since 2012, APOD has provided businesses of all sizes with a way to recognise the service and sacrifice of Australian military families by delivering exclusive benefits on a secure, closed member website.
APOD have worked hard to negotiate hundreds of discounts on behalf of all members which are listed in one easy to find location on the APOD website to save you the time and stress of having to haggle your own discounts every time.
The program dedicated to supporting the unique needs of children from serving and ex-serving ADF families has been made possible by the Australian Government.
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs is funding the Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation to deliver the Defence Kids Program across Australia, which provides camps, activity days and age-appropriate mental health education focusing on coping skills and resilience, while allowing children to bond with peers who are facing similar challenges.
