Defence Force Welfare Association is a national ex-service organisation that is passionate about all things surrounding members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families, past, present, and future. 

The South Australian branch consists of an effective team with expansive membership reaching across the tri-services holding many solid ties to the vast array of supports and services offered to veterans and their families within South Australia.

DFWA commenced in 1959 to support serving personnel then expanded into veterans & families. Over time the national body has formal recognition for submissions to Federal Government on ADF pay & conditions, retirement and superannuation. Advocating for changes to improve conditions of service delivery, rehabilitation, compensation and recognition for veterans service. DFWA represents the serving, veterans & families on the Australian Industrial skills council. Assisting with public vocational education and training along with recognition of prior learning leading to post service employment. DFWA holds formal endorsement from CDF as an effective ex-service organisation.

The South Australian branch has built great relationships and effectively networks with all ESO's and service providers to support veterans and families within the state. DFWA SA has direct contact with many state and federal Ministers along with Government directors and heads of Companies. 

These relationships assist in the ability for DFWA SA to drive change and bring awareness to the real time issues or opportunities the Defence and Veteran community holds interest in.

DFWA SA influence is not limited to high profile areas, we have a diverse team with an ability to assist in a wide variety of needs to address economic, personal, health and social matters.
